I am a student and graphic designer currently based out of Columbus, Ohio. I am originaly from the small town of Clarksburg, West Virginia. I attended high school at Robert C. Byrd HS and discovered my passion for art late Freshman year. Once involved in the schools art program I participated in all of their art classes and entered our local Italian Heritage Festival Poster Contest as well as entering and winning Grand Prize for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Poster Contest.
Currently, Im enrolled at Columbus College of Art and Design and Im working towards my BFA in Advertising and Graphic Design.
A lot of my work at the moment is being done on the computer because school requires it, but I love to do things by hand. My highschool didn't have classes where art was taught on the computer, we learned hands on in a classroom using the different types of media. When I first got to school I thought that this would set me back, but I am glad that I didn't learn on the computer first, but by hand, I feel it gives me an edge. When doing things by hand I prefer to use colored pencils, markers, and regular pencils instead of paints. I think that I am better in those medias, but I embrace the challenge of paint when it is presented.
I don't think that I have yet embraced a distinct style that is visible in all of my peices. I am working on that, and currently I have been experimenting with various textures and organic forms. Because of this I've noticed that my work with the textures has become so much stronger. I love the colors that come from natural textures, such as browns and reds.
I am influenced by various things. Ive always been drawn to Peter Max. I like the colors involved in works and his style of painting. Im influenced by fashion as well. I'm a big fan of Chanel and Coach. The simplicity of their designs has an elegance that I am drawn to. The simple patterns and overlaying shapes and letters attract me as well.
